Summer is my favorite time of year with my kids!
However, just a few short years ago....the thought of a loooong summer home with 4 kids made me break out in a sweat!
I wanted to have a fabulous, super fun summer with my gang ~ but I didn't know how.
The "want to" was there ~ just not the "how to".
Sounds silly, doesn't it?! But unfortunately it's true. I didn't know how to relax and just play.
I decided to take on a personal play-filled summer challenge. Every day of the summer we would try a new game. I was going to force myself to have fun!
And can I just tell you ~ it worked!! Woo Hoo!!
Here are our Top 10 favorite Summertime Games to play!
(All links are active ~ just click on the game title to learn how to play!)
1. Turtle Races ~ a great indoor/outdoor game!
(Don't tell anyone ~ but yesterday even my son who is 16 was playing Turtle Races with us!)
2. Red Rover
3. Mother May I?
4. Four Square
5. Hopscotch
6. Lickety-Split Frisbee
8. Redlight/Greenlight
9. Steal the Bacon
10. The License Plate Game
(Last summer I gave each of the kids a US map, and all summer long they would highlight a state when we say the license plate. Imagine their delight when they found Hawaii parked in Grandma Stille's neighborhood!)
What fun! :)
We've decided to take the Summer Games Challenge again this year. I love it! One of the first things my daughter asked this morning, "What game do we get to play today?!" Woo Hoo!
And to the Grandmas, Aunts, Cousins, Neighbors reading this post....may I encourage you to print off some of the Summer Games? The next time some kids stop by (or are playing outside your house) ~ invite them to play along! You'll be so glad you did (they'll be so glad you did!)!
What are some of your favorite Summer Games and Activities? I'd love to hear from you!!!
Thanks for stopping by *She Sparkles*! Have a wonderful, joy-filled day!!!

This is so cool and sounds like a lot of fun! Last summer I had my niece make a scrap book, and each day I had a new question for her to answer or draw. (draw someone you know with glasses). It will be really cool to look at years down the road. :)
